FOR DE-ICING USE MELTDOWN LIQUID... or CALIBER M1000
|

|
De-Icing involves application of liquid or granular chemicals after precipitation is underway. Chemical de-icers applied for de-icing can either be liquid or granular. MeltDown
Liquid de-icer penetrates through snow and ice better to help break bonding of snow and ice from pavement surfaces and eliminates problems associated with tracking. Our de-icers are delivered
in bulk into your storage tank. Mixing is not necessary, and diluting is not recommended. Managers and agencies utilizing
MeltDown products report up to 60% savings in cost compared to using traditional de-icing practices.
Caliber M1000 is a blend of Caliber de-icer with MeltDown Liquid (30% MgCl) for use as an anti-icer -
de-icer and pre-wet agent at the spinner.
The Caliber component is derived from a specific corn carbohydrate and is engineered to enhance
and lower the eutectic melting point and increase the viscosity of
MeltDown Liquid. Caliber enhances MeltDown Liquid performance as it also
inhibits corrosion and suppresses crystal formation within the MgCl. Caliber
enhancer increases the friction coefficient of MgCl and aids in the prevention of the “slickness” period sometimes experienced when using other MgCl
brines. It is also important to note that sulfates have been removed
from MeltDown eliminating the chance for fallout in your tanks and
equipment. (MeltDown Liquid IS NOT GLOSSED OVER DUST CONTROL MgCl having
just 26% solids and carrying sulfates to plug up your systems like our
competitors sell!)

FOR PRE-WETTING STOCKPILES OR AT THE SPINNER USE CALIBER M2000
|

|
Caliber M2000 de-icer can be readily applied through standard pre-wet equipment or applied to rock salt while building your stockpile for lower melting temperatures and longer performance on the road where you need it. Caliber is a patented, corn base performance enhancer that is added to chlorides to provide significantly improved melting properties, as well as to reduce the effects of corrosion. The three most important properties of Caliber are: lower melting temperatures, longer staying power, and melting more ice and snow to deliver more punch to your winter ice and snow management program.
|
|
Caliber M2000 is a blend of Caliber and 30% de-icer MgCl. Treating a stockpile with 6-10 gallons of Caliber M2000 per ton of salt greatly enhances the performance of the salt, especially at colder temperatures. Pre-wetting the stockpile eliminates costly and troublesome saddle tanks and spray systems that require constant maintenance. Caliber M2000 stays on the stockpile, and then stays put on the road where it does the most good. We've made it almost impossible to not try Caliber on your salt. To the left you can see our portable conveyor with a wetting system built right in. We'll mobilize and come to your location, and treat your salt with M2000.
|
|
Public agencies like MnDOT have reported Caliber treated salt working at -25 degrees Fahrenheit! The increased performance, along with the reduced bounce and scatter experienced when using a wetted solid, translates into a reduction of the material required. Further, a stockpile treated with Caliber M2000 will be free flowing regardless of cold winter temperatures. Due to the corrosion inhibiting properties of Caliber, treating rock salt with Caliber M2000 reduces the corrosion to the infrastructure and equipment caused by salt. Caliber M2000 is the silver bullet of treated salt!

LIQUID DE-ICER APPLICATION EQUIPMENT
Gee Asphalt has designed a unique liquid de-icer package that will have you up and running for about the cost of a "V" box sand spreader (about $8,000.00 depending on freight and set up in your area). Gee will dispatch personnel to set up and install your spray equipment and bulk storage and train your drivers and operators in correct application practices.
The first consideration is to determine the approximate volume of de-icer that will be used during a season. A Gee Asphalt sales representative will ask a few questions and can help you to correctly size your liquid de-icer equipment package. Typically an MD300 pickup size spray unit and a bulk storage tank will handle all but the biggest jobs. It is also important to carefully locate storage where it is easily accessible to loading and product deliveries during winter conditions.
The size of your liquid storage is a key factor, and standard practice is to store enough liquid de-icer to make it through at least two winter storms before refilling is needed. Keeping tanks topped is considered a good practice however experience teaches that keeping enough de-icer for one storm as a margin of safety in case of emergency or un-forecast weather is considered a minimum reserve. A rapid succession of storms can quickly deplete local, regional reserves which can take time to replenish.
All Caliber products are proven and designed for private and public users alike including regional shopping centers, municipalities, cities, counties, DOT, colleges and universities, school systems, and churches as well as for all other commercial businesses.

MeltDown NearZero Granular De-Icer
MeltDown NearZero is a naturally occurring complex chloride mineral salt used in many products including food seasonings. As an ice-melt, it consists of synergistic trace minerals plus sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium chlorides and grit. They provide superior melting and traction while eliminating the chance for stains on expensive brick, tile or ceramic floors and carpeting. MeltDown NearZero is 30% less corrosive than salt, safer for cement, and won’t hurt plants, trees and shrubbery. MeltDown NearZero is effective to 0 degrees Fahrenheit (-15 C).
|
 |
MeltDown BeneathZero Granular De-Icer
MeltDown BeneathZero is a naturally occurring complex chloride, plus magnesium chloride hexhydrate crystals. MeltDown NearZero and
MeltDown BeneathZero yield distinct advantages over all other de-icers; their darker natural color allows operators to see product application rates with ease, and melting gets a big boost from solar energy. MeltDown NearZero and BeneathZero can be used as an abrasive as well as a de-icer because of natural grit within each granule. MeltDown NearZero is 40% less corrosive than salt and is safer for cement, and won’t hurt plants, trees and shrubbery. MeltDown NearZero is effective to –10 Degrees Fahrenheit.
|
 |
MeltDown AbsoluteZero Granular De-Icer
MeltDown AbsoluteZero is our premium grade de-icer. MeltDown AbsoluteZero contains pure 100% magnesium chloride
hexhydrate crystals from the Great Salt Lake. Magnesium Chloride is safer for concrete and significantly less corrosive than calcium chloride. MeltDown AbsoluteZero is 50% less corrosive than salt and is safer for cement and won’t hurt delicate plants, trees and shrubbery. MeltDown AbsoluteZero quickly burns through ice and snow to pavement surfaces, spreading outward and breaking the bond between ice and the pavement. MeltDown AbsoluteZero is effective to –25 Degrees Fahrenheit.
