Green is in! And this is more true than ever regarding asphalt preservation and reducing our use of finite resources. The experts agree that the asphalt paving infrastructure represents a substantial investment in both public and private sectors alike. They are also in agreement on research data which shows substantially reduced costs and less demand on finite petroleum resources associated with pavements under controlled proactive preservation programs. If they are in agreement, where do you stand on this topic?
Below are a variety of links that will carry you to information and people who know what they are talking about regarding asphalt preservation. They have the experience, knowledge, and the credentials to answer your questions. Whether you need more information, more facts, or would you just prefer talking to the experts who are not selling something, we have some of the best resources available!
GSB IS EPA TESTED: Environmental impact of GSB
GSB products are not only safe for workers and the public at large, but have been tested by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in a Life Cycle Assessment and given very high marks.
GSB-88 was tested against an asphalt overlay in a "Life Cycle Assessment"; and the results show a significantly less obtrusive foot print on the environment when comparing GSB to the asphalt overlay. Lead research scientist Rita Schenck, Phd. noted GSB as one of the cleanest processes tested to date!
The impact on global warming, emissions into the atmosphere, and the resources expended to install each process were compared. There were no PAHs found in GSB, unlike those found in coal tar seal coatings. This eliminates the worry of toxic watershed runoff or fears of EPA reprisals in the future. GSB products were found environmentally sound.
