Un-Refined? Absolutely!

Has anybody noticed our pavements aging and deteriorating faster than ever before?
Lets go back to school for a moment, specifically Economics 101. Asphalt is the heaviest residue left in the cracking/refining process of crude oil. Over the last 25 years the demand for new sophisticated chemicals fractioned from crude during the refining process has skyrocketed. In our economics class we learned that increased demand coupled with a static supply increases cost. When we also increase demand on a static supply AND remove components from asphalt in the refining process like adhesive-epoxy's, anti-oxidants, polymers, ultraviolet inhibitors that sell for more money than asphalt binders, not only does the cost for the base material increase, but the quality of it's performance correspondingly declines. Ouch! So, demand for asphalt binder to build roads as well as for those special components of crude increases simultaneously driving prices skyward, performance of the super-refined binders decreases. Double indemnity! That explains in a nutshell what we are all seeing out there in the real world. You've got the picture, right? So where do we go from here?

Un-Refined? Because nothing else performs like it!
What if we could turn back the clock a million years? Gilsonite, made by Mother Nature, is petrified asphalt cement. Unlike asphalt binders derived from crude oil, Gilsonite does not need to be refined. Further, unlike common highly refined asphalt binders used for hot mix, asphalt emulsions, slurry, fog & chip seals and driveway coatings, Gilsonite does not go through crude-oil cracking process. Nothing is taken out, everything is left intact! Gilsonite is fully compatible with all bitumen, and retains all components vital to long-term performance. Gilsonite provides superior performance in preservation alternatives.

A million years old?
The Million year old Gilsonite resin is first mined, then transformed into GSB liquid preservation treatments. When applied to asphalt surfaces as a Preservation Treatment, GSB penetrates into the matrix and fills micro-voids while it toughens all asphalt surfaces. This impervious shell becomes integral within the surface of the pavement to better withstand heavy traffic, plows, and effects of the aging process. When preservation is started early, even immediately after construction, Gilsonite treatments keep your pavement pliable, flexible, and strong like when it was new.

GSB Preservation Treatments with Gilsonite equal sustainable pavements.
By preserving your pavements with GSB you aren't spending as much or as often on temporary fixes and reconstruction. Instead you are actively decreasing the carbon footprint on our environment by dramatically reducing emissions created by re-constructing pre-maturely failed pavements. That means you spend less and have a positive impact on the environment by reducing demand on finite petroleum resources.
